Abstract:

We present a summary of TEXES/Gemini observations of star forming regions. TEXES is a high-resolution, mid-infrared spectrograph used on Gemini-North as a visitor instrument. We observed molecules such as H2, H2O, C2H2, HCN, and NH3 from low-mass YSOs and Herbig AeBe stars. Using the line profiles and line ratios we are able to probe the gaseous material close to the stars. We also observed [NeII] and [SIV] associated with ultracompact HII regions to map the bulk kinematics in these regions, such as the stream of high velocity gas we found in W51.

Comments:

Although the abstract is preliminary, I feel it fairly represents my intention to summarize TEXES and our observations of star forming regions. My goal is to broaden the Gemini community support and utilization of TEXES on Gemini. To this end, I expect an oral presentation will reach the largest audience.
