Title: T-ReCS observations of W51 IRS2

Abstract:

We present mid infrared images taken at 7.9, 9.8, 12.3 and 24.5 microns of the compact HII region W51 IRS2. These images were obtained with the mid infrared facility camera T-ReCS at Gemini-S. From the calibrated images we are able to build extinction and color temperature maps of this region and its sources. The also report the discovery of a source visible only at 24.5 micron. We discuss the nature of this source and whether it is connected with the stream of ionized gas recently discovered by Lacy et al.
