Título: Dissecting Molecular Cores in the Pipe Nebula Resumo: The Pipe Nebula is one of the most massive clouds situated in the solar neighborhood. This cloud seems to provide a particularly suitable laboratory in which to study the physical processes experienced by the interstellar clouds during the phase of contraction to form low mass stars. Images with the OSIRIS f/7 camera are requested of ten fields in the region of the Pipe nebula's C18O Core 12 with the three J, H, and Ks filters to characterize the stars in this line-of-sight: distinguish the background, foreground stars and young stellar objects associated with Core 12, as well as measure the visual extinction for the background stars. |
