Título: The Environment of the QSO Triplet 2354-2848

Resumo: We request time of SOI instrument to do r' and i' imaging of a triplet of physically close QSOs, with the goal of studiyng their environment . The triplet is at z~1.7 and has projected angular separation of 3.6 Mpc. Quasars are rare astronomical objects and their presence forming a close triplet suggests that they are likely in an extremely rich environment at very high redshift. The imaging proposed here, together with J and K imaging with OSIRIS requested in our SOAR proposal 2 (Sp2), are optimal to detect red objects at z~1.5-1.7 using color-magnitude and colorcolor diagrams.
