Título: An Investigation Of The Host Galaxies Of Tev Blazars At Near-Ir, I.

Resumo: Blazars are the most extreme class of all AGNs. Some of them have been recently detected at energies - E >1 TeV. It has been suggested that this emission is produced by highly relativistic jets, formed by super massive black holes with very high spin, may be the result of a recent merger. The objective of this work is to make near IR observations of these objects to obtain morphologies, averaged surface brightness profiles and colors of the host galaxies. These data will be compared with similar data obtained for TeV quiet blazars in order to establish differences and similarities.
