Título: H-band spectra of OB candidate stars of the obscured galactic giant HII region: NGC3576

Resumo: We plan to measure spectrophotometric distance to NGC3576 by using H-band spectra taken with OSIRIS. Contrarily to the majority of HII regions that displays a rich cluster, this shows bright nebulosity and only a few stars. Previous efforts have failed to detect NGC3576 OB stars (Figuerêdo et al. 2002), because dust emission from circumstellar disks contaminates the photospheric spectrum. Moving to the blue improves the chance to reveal the photospheric spectrum, as shown by Hanson et al. (1998) in M17. Due to the high reddening, however, the H-band offers the only chance to detect the photospheres of such young stars.
