Título: The neutral content of PNe knots: a spatially resolved survey in the near-IR

Resumo: PNe are not smooth, regular, spherically expanding nebulae. The ejection of asymmetric structures, including knots, are not predicted by theory, yet these structures are found. Many knots have peculiar properties (low in ionization, embedded in a medium of higher ionization state, and must be young) while others have huge Doppler shifts and were probably only recently ejected. One small class of knots is highly deficient in hydrogen, and shown recently to not emit in any of the bright optical forbidden lines. This proposal is aimed at surveying the neutral material in these types of knots at high spatial resolution.
