Título: Near-infrared study of southern massive star formation regions

Resumo: The purpose of this project is to carry on deep JHKsBrg and continuum imaging of highly embedded young stellar clusters, discovered from observations made during the Pico dos Dias NIR survey. H and K-bands spectroscopic observations of selected OB stars candidates will complement these observations. Some of the stars are surrounded by extended nebulae, which can be either already formed HII regions or dust reflection clouds. The spectral information will help us to determine the spectral types of the most massive stars as well as to constrain the distances to the clusters and as result, to improve our understand of the spiral structure of the Galaxy.
