Título: Disc structure in Hickson Groups: scale parameters, absorption lanes and thick discs

Resumo: We plan to obtain SOI images of 3 edge-on spirals located in Hickson compact groups. Our goal is to study the light distribution perpendicular to the disc plane, determining the inclination of this latter relative to the line of sight, the structural parameters of the thin disc, detecting the thick disc component and studying the extinction distribution along the dust lanes. Colour gradients will also be determined in search for variation of stellar content with distance from the disc mid-plane. Comparison of the disc properties in spirals located in different environs will contribute to the assessment of the best scenarios for early galaxy formation. As a by-product, we will also study the globular cluster and satellites systems in these galaxies and in their neighbors.
