Título: Near-infrared spectroscopy of symbiotic systems Resumo: Symbiotic stars are binary systems with large periods and strong interaction. There is an agreement in the fact that they consist of (at least) three components: a giant star, a hot source like a white dwarf, a main sequence star or even a neutron star (GX1+4), and a nebula ejected by the red giant. Some studies on nebular abundances in symbiotic stars have been performed in the optical region, however very few studies have been reported in the literature dealing with near-infrared spectroscopy for them. And nearly all of these studies refer to northern objects. We propose to observe a sample of symbiotic systems using the OSIRIS cross-dispersed spectrograph. This will allow us to get the near-infrared spectrum (JHK bands) for these objects, and for the first time, analize the near-infrared spectrum of southern symbiotic systems. The results will be used to characterize the cool component of each system, and will consist in an important database to subsequent studies of southern symbiotic systems. |
