Título: Photometry of high mass variable white dwarf stars
Resumo: We propose to observe a sample of massive DAVs to increase the number of observed periods and thus obtain a more detailed picture of the interior of the star, in particular the central regions where crystallization occurs. Even thoughDA variable white dwarf stars are the most populous class of pulsating compact stars, showing multiperiodic luminosity variations with periods between 70 and 3000 s, and amplitudes from 1 to 60 mma, white dwarfs with stellar masses above 0.85 solar masses, are rare but powerful tools to study the physics at extreme conditions as crystallization in high density environments. They can be used to study the carbon-to-oxygen reaction rate through the C/O composition of the core, an essential parameter for the modeling of evolving stars, including SN explosion.
