Título: NGC7412 Radial Oxygen Abundance and its Corotation Radius Resumo: NGC7412 is a bright southern spiral galaxy, very rich in HII regions but with no radial Oxygen abundances determined to its gas content. Since different observations indicated that the corotation radius of this galaxy is found deep inside the optical part of the disk, the effects of the spiral structure in the Oxygen abundances would be more accentuated, and consequently more easily observed. The observation of these effects would impose an important observational constrain to the corotation radius and consequently to NGC7412’s spiral pattern speed. For this reason we propose to use the HTS Goodman spectrograph to observe at least 16 HII regions, carefully selected from images taken with SOI, to appraise the oxygen abundances and radial metallicity gradients of this galaxy. |
